Sara Osborne McDonald studied violin performance at the University of Connecticut and Yale University. She holds a bachelor's degree in violin performance from UConn. While a student, she was the winner of the UConn Concerto Competition and the Benjamin Jepson Prize at Yale.
Sara's former teachers include Bernard Lurie, Arianna Bronne, Theodore Arm, Stephan Tieszen and Sydney Harth. Sara has performed with the New Haven and Eastern Connecticut Symphonies.
Sara is a passionate and skilled teacher. Her students have won positions in NEMFA and the CMEA Eastern Regionals. Sara lives in New Haven with her husband John and their five cats and is the proud parent of Max Cohen, a recent graduate of Farmington High School.
